Yuliya Dyak was born in Pinsk, Belarus and began her musical studies at the age of seven at Pinsk State Music School. She was one of the best students and graduated with honors. She received a scholarship to attend Brest State Music College, where she began studying in 1999 and graduated in 2004 with her Bachelor's Degree in Violin Performance with a Minor in Piano. While there she studied with Ludmila Kulazhinskaya and participated in Master Classes with well known contemporary Belarussian musicians. Along with her studies, Ms. Yuliya performed in orchestras, chamber ensembles, and quartets.
After coming to the United States in 2004, she played in the American River College Orchestra and worked as a piano accompanist for local choirs. She also took private lessons from Bakyt Bekdjanov and Tatiana Scott, professor at Sacramento State University. For the last several years, Ms. Yuliya was working as a private violin and piano instructor in Sacramento where she has gained a reputation for high quality teaching.
Ms. Yuliya uses a combination of the best available violin and piano teaching methods. She believes in good technique, a foundation which can later support any musical directions. Her students have participated in local youth orchestras, concerts, and festivals. Ms. Yuliya is a very organized teacher and is particularly skilled in teaching music theory and sight reading.
Yuliya believes that music adds to the lives of children and adults and makes them better. She loves music and she wants each of her students to have the same appreciation and keep it for life. Ms. Yuliya is a friendly and very patient teacher. She makes her students feel welcome, successful, and happy to be learning an instrument.
